HAULAGE DRIVER

​​ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a reliable and professional Haulage Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of goods to customers and sites across the UK.

This is a hands-on role that requires a strong sense of responsibility, good timekeeping and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate company HGV/haulage vehicles in accordance with UK road traffic laws and company procedures.

• Transport and deliver goods to customers and designated sites across the UK.

• Carry out vehicle safety checks before, during and after journeys, reporting any defects or issues promptly.

• Ensure loads are correctly secured and transported safely.

• Complete delivery paperwork, vehicle records and other relevant documentation accurately.

• Plan routes effectively and manage journey times to meet agreed delivery schedules.

• Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

• Assist with loading and unloading where required, following appropriate manual-handling and safety procedures.

• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the vehicle.

• Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph and working-time regulations.

• Report accidents, incidents, delays, vehicle defects or other issues promptly.

• Represent the company professionally at all times.​

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Full UK HGV/LGV driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being driven.

• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).

• Good knowledge of UK roads and driving regulations.

• Experience of driving HGV/haulage vehicles.

• A good understanding of vehicle safety and load security.

• Reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work.

• Good communication and customer-service skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Physically capable of carrying out duties associated with loading and unloading where required.

DESIRABLE

• Previous experience within a haulage, logistics or transport environment.

• Experience with different types of trailers or loads.

• Good knowledge of digital tachographs and drivers' hours regulations.

• Experience using delivery paperwork or electronic proof-of-delivery systems.
